Summary: Opens with scenes of a glider landing, with the narration, "Some gliders are capable of carrying a load greater than their own weight. Nearly all this load is supported by the wings." Two men build a spar (inboard section), piece by piece, in jigs.

Summary: Five men assemble the nose section, trailing section, and ribs; apply plywood skins and reinforcements; and do the final sanding and varnishing. A supervisor inspects and approves this glider wing (serial number 855AL; part number 28066 on tag). The inboard panel is now ready for fabric covering.

Summary: There are special problems in building the curved end of the wing, requiring advanced woodworking skills. A man and a woman add bow end to already assembled inboard panel, install ribs, mortise in the edge (with hand saw), and do final finishing. The glider wing is now completely assembled and ready for fabric covering.
