This series consists of a volume compiled by Robert A. Nesbitt, son-in-law of Ira Gabrielson. Nesbitt collected obituaries and reminiscences of Gabrielson and his
wife Clara for the first part of this scrapbook. The remainder consists of the autobiography Gabrielson had begun to write but never completed, beginning with his childhood
memories and ending in 1966.

This series consists of Gabrielson's diaries, 1918-1977. Entries for 1918-1939 are primarily lists of birds seen and/or collected, with occasional notes on mammals,
the landscape, and his activities. Beginning in 1931, the entries are narratives of each day's work with notes on birds and mammals. Many daily descriptions include commentary
on gardening and household happenings, parties and meetings attended, and friends and family. In some cases, years overlap and there may be entries for the same day in two
different diaries.
