Descriptive Entry:
This accession consists of images of cacti maintained by curator Joseph Nelson Rose. Most images were taken in Ecuador, Brazil, Argentina, the Dominican Republic, the British West Indies, and the Danish West Indies. Some images of people, buildings, and landscapes are also present.

Materials are mostly glass plate negatives and nitrate negatives. There is also a small amount of black and white photographs, illustrations, sketches, and notes.

This accession consists of records created and maintained by Louise Allison Cort, Curator, 1995- ; Associate Curator, 1994-1995; Assistant Curator, 1989-1994; and Museum Specialist, 1985-1989. Topics documented in this accession include research, donations, appraisals, collaborations, and professional activities. Some records predate Cort's tenure at the Freer Gallery of Art and Arthur M. Sackler Gallery. She previously held positions in Oriental Art as Assistant Curator, 1969-1976, and Associate for Research, 1978-1981, at the Harvard University Fogg Art Museum. Materials include correspondence, clippings, picture postcards, notes, invitations, memoranda, brochures, proposals, photographs, sketches, lists, glass negatives, brochures, and related materials. Some materials are in electronic format.

This accession consists of records that document the curatorial activities of Lydia Puccinelli, Curator of Collections, National Museum of African Art, 1979-1999. Between 1964-1979, Puccinelli served as a curator at the Museum of African Art, prior to its joining the Smithsonian. A large portion of the correspondence is in response to public inquires regarding the identification and assessment of objects. Materials include correspondence, memoranda, notes, exhibition materials, photographs of objects, slides, floorplans, didactics, and label text.
