Descriptive Entry:
This accession consists of records documenting the research and professional activities of JoGayle Howard, a theriogenologist at the National Zoological Park (NZP),
1994-2011. Howard also held several internship and fellowship appointments at NZP dating from 1980. Howard specialized in breeding endangered species in captivity by adapting
techniques commonly used for human infertility treatment. She is particularly well-known for her work with black footed ferrets, giant pandas, clouded leopards, cheetahs,
and Florida panthers. Materials include research data and images; data analysis; animal observations; presentations and other meeting materials; procedural documents; grant
proposals and reports; correspondence; photographic and audiovisual materials; and related materials. Some materials are in electronic format.
