Descriptive Entry:
This accession consists of records documenting programs and projects developed by the Lemelson Center. The first program included is: "Crossroads: Historical Perspectives on Topics Related to September 11," a monthly series of conversations with the public featuring scholars and other specialists on topics related to the events of September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. Such topics include memorials, photojournalism, Islam, epidemics, women of the Middle East, the symbolism of the American flag, racial profiling, and the psychology of terrorism. The second program included is: "Prototypes and Invention: An Inquiry into How Inventors Think and Communicate," a day-long workshop to investigate the ways in which inventors use prototypes in the course of developing new technology. Materials include correspondence, memoranda, proposals, meeting minutes, brochures, surveys, color photographs, advertisements, research materials, and workshop packets.
