The single–volume list of book records for Tennessee (no date) is arranged by office with records of the Assistant Commissioner and his staff first, followed alphabetically by locations of the subdistrict office. Included in the list of book records are the type of record in each book or volume, the dates of the volume, and the volume number. Throughout this introductory material and in the Table of Contents, the Adjutant General's Office (AGO) volume number appears in parentheses in the series descriptions of the records.
