Scope and Contents:
Edited film produced by James A. FitzPatrick and photographed by Bert Dawley is a fictional short subject set on a southern plantation during the Civil War. The primary focus is on the relationship of the elderly plantation owner to the "slaves" as the plantation falls on hard times during and after the Civil War, particularly with his death. Film includes "slaves" playing instruments and dance as choreographed by Madame Serova.
