Included is correspondence and memoranda of Ralph Rinzler, Assistant Secretary for Public Service, 1984-1989; and James C. Early, Executive Assistant, 1986-1987, Deputy Assistant Secretary, 1988-1989, and Acting Assistant Secretary, 1990. This accession consists of publication records maintained by Kathryn B. Lindeman, Director of Publications. These materials document the various publication efforts of the Office of Public Affairs (OPA) to promote and provide information to the diverse population of people who work for, visit, and do research at the Smithsonian Institution (SI).
