Descriptive Entry:
This accession consists of the correspondence of Frank D. Ferrari, Research Zoologist in the Department of Invertebrate Zoology at the National Museum of Natural History (NMNH). Ferrari's research focused on the development of copepods and related crustaceans, patterning of crustacean limbs, and the taxonomy of deep-sea copepods. He also served as Director of the Smithsonian Oceanographic Sorting Center (SOSC), 1978-1981. Some of these materials predate his employment at the Smithsonian Institution which began in 1974. In addition to correspondence, this accession contains slides of the Smithsonian Philippines Marine Biological Expedition, 1978-1979.

Materials include correspondence, postcards, news clippings, microfiche, scientific illustrations, maps, transparencies, photographs, slides, negatives, and a book. Some materials are in electronic format.
