In this accession, series one consists of miscellaneous biographical files, mainly of persons affiliated with the Smithsonian Institution (SI), and is comprised of
newspaper clippings, obituaries, biographies from Who's Who, SI announcements and press releases, curriculum vitae, and accompanying memoranda, c. 1968-1987.
Series two consists of documents relating to Smithsonian awards and medals, including the James Smithson Medal, the Joseph Henry Medal, and the Samuel P. Langley Medal,
and includes photographs of recipients and of awards, lists of recipients, brochures, news releases, and newspaper articles, 1927, 1956-1988.
