UNMICROFILMED: Three hundred fifty-five artists files containing reproductions of works of art, letters, notes, and printed material.
REEL D8: Scrapbook containing gallery literature and newspaper clippings relating to Scott & Fowles.
Biographical / Historical:
Commercial art gallery; New York, N.Y. Now defunct. Originally established around 1905. Closed ca. 1943.
Provenance:
Artists files donated to Cincinnati Art Museum in 1980 by Mathilda Boelscher, a former employee of Scott and Fowles. Cincinnati Art Museum donated the files to AAA in 1981, through Pat Rutledge, librarian at the museum. Some files were removed by a curator at the Taft Museum, Cincinnati, before being received by AAA. Material on reel D8 lent for filming 1956 by Wildenstein & Co.
