This accession consists of the main website of the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service (SITES) as it existed on June 20, 2011. The website provides
information on hosting and supporting traveling exhibitions developed by the Smithsonian Institution. It also includes press releases, educational resources, the annual "Siteline"
newsletter, the biannual "Update" catalog, general information about SITES, and, for each exhibition, a description, specifications, travel schedule, and related promotional
materials, publications, and other resources.
Also included in this accession are two blogs maintained by SITES, both crawled July 6, 2011. The SITES blog discusses the theme and contents of its traveling exhibitions.
The "Road Reports Across America" blog highlights programs at museums participating in SITES' Museums on Main Street program which brings Smithsonian Institution exhibitions
to rural communities. Materials are in electronic format.

This accession consists of six websites and two blogs maintained by the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service.
The main website of the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service (SITES), crawled May 27, 2014, provides information on hosting and supporting traveling exhibitions
developed by the Smithsonian Institution. It also includes press releases, educational resources, the annual "Siteline" newsletter, the biannual "Update" catalog, general
information about SITES, and, for each exhibition, a description, specifications, travel schedule, and related promotional materials, publications, and other resources.
The SITES blog, crawled May 27, 2014, discusses the theme and contents of its traveling exhibitions. It was established in July 2007.
The "Museum on Main Street" website, crawled March 10, 2014, helps bring the Smithsonian Institution to small towns across America. The website includes information about
traveling exhibitions as well as educational resources and docent handbooks for each exhibition. The website also includes guides for creating oral histories and exhibitions.
The "Road Reports Across America" blog, crawled March 10, 2014, highlights programs at museums participating in SITES' Museums on Main Street program which brings Smithsonian
Institution exhibitions to rural communities. The blog was established in July 2007. The last post was in July 2013.
The "Earth from Space" website, crawled March 31, 2014, was created to accompany a traveling exhibition of the same name and includes an online version. The exhibition
was organized in conjunction with the National Air and Space Museum and toured from 2006 through 2012. The website is no longer being updated and includes touring information
and educational resources.
The "Corridos sin Fronteras" website, crawled May 27, 2014, was created to accompany a traveling exhibition of the same name and includes an online version. The exhibition
toured from 2002 through 2005 and the website is no longer being updated. The website is available in both English and Spanish. Due to technical issues, only the first page
of the website is included in this accession.
The "Key Ingredients: America by Food" website, crawled May 27, 2014, was created to accompany a traveling exhibition of the same name. It includes educational resources.
The "Beyond Baseball: The Life of Roberto Clemente" website, crawled May 27, 2014, was created to accompany a traveling exhibition of the same name and includes an online
version. The exhibition was organized in conjunction with the Smithsonian Latino Center and toured from 2007 through 2012. The website is no longer being updated and includes
touring information and educational resources. The website is available in English and Spanish.
