Erect inflorescence is 12" long with solitary, waxy, yellow flowers. Flowers are 3.25" across. Similar to A. cliftonii, but differs in that the flower of A. clowesii is completely yellow, while A. cliftonii's flower has a purple-brown streak on the side lobe of its lip.
Erect to arching inflorescence is 12" long with 3-15 long-lived, heavily textured flowers. Flowers are 5" across. Lowland plants have more flowers than upland plants, but upland plants are considered to have a better shape and darker color. Lowland flowers are "floppy" and more white to pink.
