An interview with Benjamin Harjo, Jr. conducted 2022 September 19-October 2, by Laura Marshall Clark for the Archives of American Art, at Harjo, Jr's home in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.­
Biographical / Historical:
Benjamin Harjo, Jr. (absentee Shawnee-Seminole Nation; 1945- ) is a painter and printmaker based in Oklahoma City. He is known for his vivid colors and evocations of Seminole patchwork and other traditional graphic lexicons in his syncretic, modern style. Laura Marshall Clark (Muscogee Creek; 1953- ) is an Indigenous scholar, curator, and educator who has worked across the United States; she has been based in Oklahoma City and Houston, Texas.

This interview is part of the Archives of American Art Oral History Program, started in 1958 to document the history of the visual arts in the United States, primarily through interviews with artists, historians, dealers, critics and administrators.
