Scope and Contents:
Approximately 50 reels of 16mm motion picture film in various lengths, some are in cans. Includes the negative and completed film, narrated by Mendel Peterson for the Explorers' Guild film, and two short color films show Peterson and another man doing carpentry work in an outdoor setting, then straining a liquid into a bottle.
Biographical / Historical:
Most of the film in the collection was made in the 1960s by or under Mendel Peterson, then curator of underwater archaeology in the Division of Armed Forces History. Some footage was made for a project sponsored by the Explorers' Guild, according to information supplied by Joe Young.
Provenance:
Immediate source of acquisition unknown.
