Four diaries kept by Perry; 1 address book; a scrapbook; and 3 photographs of Perry by George C. Cox.
Biographical / Historical:
Painter; Elmhurst, L.I., N.Y. Was the grandson of Commodore O.H. Perry of the Battle of Lake Erie, 1813. Spent most of his painting career in Elmhurst, Long Island.
Provenance:
The donor, Oliver H. Perry, is the grandson of the artist.

Scope and Contents:
Scrapbook containing illustrated letters to C.Y. Turner from Frederick S. Church, and one letter from John LaFarge.
Biographical / Historical:
Painter, etcher; New York, N.Y. Turner and painter, Frederick Stuart Church were close friends and according to Ruel Pardee Tolman, and "were called 'the long and short of it.' Every Christmas morning they planned to have breakfast together."

Provenance:
Letters on reel 3480 were originally donated to the National Collection of Fine Arts (now National Museum of American Art) by Turner's sister, Mrs. A. T. Yardley, July 17, 1926. Letters on reel D8 are from an unknown donor, possibly one "Whittenberg" in Oct. 1958.
