Introduction:
This finding aid was digitized with funds generously provided by the Smithsonian Institution Women's Committee.
Descriptive Entry:
These papers document Henry's career in journalism and include manuscripts of articles and books on science; copies of press releases concerning the Smithsonian; newspaper
articles; manuscripts; a typed copy of a journal; memorabilia from his career as a war correspondent; and scrapbooks containing his newspaper articles and columns.
Historical Note:
Thomas R. Henry (1893- ), a science writer for the Washington Evening Star, also served as a press writer for the Smithsonian Institution from 1931 until the mid-1960s.
During World War II he was a correspondent for the North American Newspaper Alliance serving in England, North Africa, Sicily, Italy, and France.
