The Graham Family home movies primarily feature films shot during long road trips around the contiguous 48 states, including many national parks and monuments. The home movies also include images of gatherings with family and friends.

The contents of the Great Migration Home Movie Project are made available to the public for the purposes of education and scholarly research. Edited film documents travel in South Africa. Film includes: diamond and gold mines; Cape Town (OK Bazaar, Adderley Street, Rhodes Memorial, and Cape Town University); atop Table Mountain; KWV Winery; Seven Weeks Poort; ostrich farm; Wilderness Lagoon; Transkei with scenes of local inhabitants; Hlukluwe game reserve; Durban (Zulu Rickshaw boys and Athlone Gardens); Zululand showing Zulus and a dance at Ndwedwe; Natal Park mountains; Johannesburg (Rissik Street, Jobert Park, mine dumps, Rand Refinery, making gold bricks, and a mine dance); Pretoria (a Ndbele family, Zulus, and Kruger statue); and various wild animals at Kruger Park.

Scope and Contents:
Edited film documents travel in the American Southwest. Film focuses on places of interest including Las Vegas, Boulder, Painted Desert, Kingman, the Petrified Forest, and the Grand Canyon. Extensive footage is given to the Grand Canyon and Boulder in particular. Includes footage of city scenes, landscape panoramas, methods of travel, and tourist activities. Film is edited to include older black and white footage used to explain history of the area.

Edited film documents travel from the Cape of Good Hope to Kenya. Locales visited in South Africa include: Cape Town; vineyards of Paarl; an ostrich farm; the Transkei; Zululand; Durban; game reserves of Hluhluwe, Kruger National Park and Mkuze; Pretoria; Johannesburg; Soweto; Premier Diamond Mine; Victoria Falls; and Matabele. Locales in Uganda include Kampala and Murchison Falls and in Kenya include Nairobi and Amboseli-Maasai Reserve. Peoples filmed include: Zulus, Ndebele people, Indian population of Durban, Bantu of Soweto, and the Maasai.
