Also included are histories of the museum; exhibition catalogs; newsletters; clippings about the museum's development; and photos of the new building, 1972.

Scope and Contents note:
Correspondents in this series include a wide range of international architects, designers, and artists who interacted with Breuer. The letters discuss his training and the execution of his hundreds of architectural projects and designs for furnishings. Researchers will find the letters between Breuer and his Bauhaus colleagues, including Josef Albers, Herbert Bayer, Walter Gropius, and László Moholy-Nagy, of particular interest.

The following companies are represented: Pratt & Whitney, Armstrong Siddeley, Bristol, Napier, Westinghouse, and Rolls Royce Engines. Besides material on engines and propellers, the collection also contains U.S. Navy Department Power Plant Memorandums and color slides of 1962 and 1964 British air shows.

Biographical / Historical:
Texas Instruments was started in 1930 as an oil exploration company called Geophysical Science. It quickly branched overseas and into other fields of technology, changing its name to Texas Instruments in the 1950s. The company was the first to mass-produce silicon transistors and designed the first transistor radio in the 1950s, the first hand-held calculator in 1967, and the first single-chip microcomputer in the 1970s, in addition to many other innovations.
