Biographical / Historical:
Dr. and Mrs. William F. Meggars amassed a collection between 1914 and 1970 of, as Edith's will states, "old typewriters, music boxes, cameras, objects of art and other items of tangible personal property" and called the collection "The Museum." The original collection donated to the NMAH was quite large and varied in materials and since its incorporation into the museum has been split up among appropriate divisions.
