This collection was created by the Archives Center to bring together materials relating to the 1968 Mexico City Olympics. Items relate to team members and include postcards, event programs, press guides, magazines, articles, and dining hall tickets.

Biographical / Historical:
The 1968 Summer Olympics, (Games of the XIX Olympiad) were the first Olympic games held in Latin America and the first held in a Spanish-speaking country. They took place in October,1968, during a time of upheaval in Mexico as well as in the United States.
Provenance:
Initial donations to this collection were made by Tom Lough (Pentathlon) and Daniel Cantillon (Fending) in 2016. Addenda from Laurie Lewis Havel (Volleyball), Sharon Callahan McKniff (High jump) and John Ferris (Swimming) were added in 2017. Papers of Micki King (Diving), Vicki King (Swimming), and Jane Swagerty Hill (Swimming) were acquired in 2018.
