The collection consists of photographs relating to the congress of the Czechoslovak Anthropological Society, held August 31-September 5, 1969 in Humpolec, Czech Republic. It includes images of attendees and sessions (including one probably related to Aleš Hrdlička) of the 1969 congress of the Czechoslovakn Anthropological Society, as well as a view of Aleš Hrdlička Street in Humpolec.
The Czechoslovak Anthropological Society (Cs. spolecnost antropologicka) was established in 1964 as a section of the Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences. Ales Hrdlicka, whom the congress appears to have been celebrating, was a Czech anthropologist who was born in Humpolec and worked at the United States National Museum (1903-1942).
