Scope and Contents:
The collection contains material from fourteen dam construction projects (1918-1946), including notes, blueprints, reports, drawings, and corres¬pondence. In addition there is cost data (1923-1943), equipment and materials testing data (1939-1945), a notebook, photoprints (1926-1938), related journal articles (1927, 1933, 1940), and miscellaneous related journals, manuals, and catalogs.
Arrangement:
The collection is divided into seven series

Series 3: Equipment and Materials Testing Data, 1939-1945

Archival materials, including photographs, advertising art, catalogs and other trade literature, documenting the equipment, facilities, personnel and products of the S. Morgan Smith Company, engineers and contractors. The subjects of the photographs include engines, fire pumps, generators, paper machinery, turbines, the construction of a dam and hydroelectric station by the Atlanta Water and Electric Power Company, and the Mathis Dam near Atlanta.
