Scope and Contents:
Organized by the Anacostia Museum and held there June 18, 1994 through September 07, 1994. This exhibit featured over a dozen collages by Richmond-based artist Lydia Thompson. As an African American artist Thompson believes that it is important to educate communities to diverse approaches of communicating through the arts.
These records document the planning, organizing, execution, and promotion of the exhibition. Materials include correspondence, brochures, flyers, exhibit script, newspaper clippings, and education booklet.

Summary:
Curated by César Piñeiro, Art-Caribe featured works of Puerto Rican born artist, Dennis Mario Rivera. The exhibition was organized by the Anacostia Museum and held there September 18, 1994 through November 06, 1994. Rivera uses his art to tell stories of his homeland and the Caribbean. Many of his works is this exhibit focused on the region's African heritage.

This accession consists of the records of J. Michael Carrigan, Assistant Director for Exhibits, 1982-1989, and Assistant Director for Exhibits and Public Spaces, 1990-1994, in the Department of Exhibits at the National Museum of American History (NMAH). Materials include NMAH Management Committee reports; exhibition proposals and contracts; minutes of meetings; information on special exhibition funding; space at NMAH storage facilities (i.e., Fullerton Industrial Park and Suitland); loans for exhibitions; correspondence and memoranda; storage and exhibition blueprints and drawings; and personnel files. Records also include documentation of the American Festival Project, Oh, Write My Name: American Portraits, Harlem Heroes traveling exhibition show, Japan Music Program, and the Duke Ellington Festival.
