Scope and Contents:
An interview of Frederick Hart conducted 1982 Nov. 23, by Estill Curtis Pennington, for the Archives of American Art.
Hart speaks of his training with the sculptor Felix de Weldon, his work on the Washington Cathedral, and his involvement with the Vietnam Veteran's Memorial.
Biographical / Historical:
Frederick Hart (1943-1999) was a sculptor from Washington, D.C. Born in Atlanta, Ga.; studied at the Univ. of South Carolina, the Corcoran Gallery, and American Univ.
Provenance:
This interview is part of the Archives of American Art Oral History Program, started in 1958 to document the history of the visual arts in the United States, primarily through interviews with artists, historians, dealers, critics and others.
