Biographical/Historical note:
The record label M.O.R.E (Minority Owned Record Enterprises) was founded by Roberto Martínez in Albuquerque, New Mexico, to document and disseminate the regional Hispanic musical tradition of New Mexico. Under this label, he has recorded albums by Los Reyes de Albuquerque, Lorenzo Martínez, Debbie "La Chicanita" and other New Mexican artists. Martinez' musical activism led him to begin composing about political events, including corridos ((narrative ballads), on contemporary topics. Much of the music issued on the M.O.R.E. lable features Mariachi favorites in familiar arrangements of guitarra, requinto, vihuela, guitarron, violin and trompet, as well as the lyrical New Mexican violin style.

Roberto Martínez (1929-2013) was a prominent musician, composer, and standard bearer of northern New Mexican-southern Coloradan musical tradition. He was born in the town of Mora, New Mexico, and lived most of his life in Albuquerque with his wife Ramona and his children. In 1962 he founded, along with Ray Flores, Miguel Archibeque, George Benavides and Isidro Chave, Los Reyes de Alburquerque, a Nuevo Mexicano–styled mariachi group. He performed at the Smithsonian Folklife Festival on several occasions, he toured nationally with the National Council for the Traditional Arts, and he received the National Endowment for the Arts' prestigious National heritage Fellowship. On January 3rd, 2013, Roberto Martínez passed away in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
