Sticks of tinted mother-of-pearl decorated with elaborate raised painted orientalist design, carved à jour and backed with tinted mother-of-pearl on reverse. Slips of gold painted mother-of-pearl. Mother-of-pearl washer and metal loop at the rivet. Leaf of silk gauze weave (crossed warps) with weft of metal-wrapped silk thread. Areas of appliquéd plain weave silk. Embroidered with metal-wrapped threads and spangles of stamped and plain metal and possibly iridescent celluloid.

Sticks of carved ivory with elaborate piqué work and insets of red and green dyed ivory. Slips of ivory, painted on the reverse. Mother-of-pearl washer at the rivet. Single-leaf parchment painted with gouache on obverse and reverse with gold and metallic highlights at the edges.
