Verso: text with illustration advertising Mrs. Potts' Cold Handle Sad Iron, with list of advantages. In lower right: "For sale by / Hoitt, Rugg & Co., / No. 53 Oliver Street, Boston." In this cartoon illustration, the product is shown as advantageous to the Chinese laundry, whereas other new products of the same period, such as celluloid collars, were advertised as ways of putting Chinese laundries out of business. Nevertheless, this illustration uses a stereotypical image.
