"Interior of Fort Pitt. This photograph was taken in 1884 probably by J. O. Cote. It shows five members of Big Bear's band as well as a number of traders and one member of the Northwest Mounted Police. Fort Pitt was located on the North Saskatchewan River just east of the present Alberta-Saskatchewan boundary and was destroyed by Indians in 1885 after it had been abandoned by its inhabitants." -- Information received from Hugh A.
