management, and plans for the Dulles Center (officially named the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center later). Materials include reports, working papers, publications, policies, design
drawings, floor plans, images, a collector's coin, and related materials. Some materials are in electronic format.
This accession consists of images in a variety of formats of objects and other items displayed in the "Star Wars: The Magic of the Myth" exhibition which was on view
at the National Air and Space Museum (NASM) from October 31, 1997, through January 31, 1999. The images, many of which were taken by the Smithsonian Institution's Office of
Imaging, Printing, and Photographic Services, were maintained by NASM's Office of Public Affairs. Some images depict staff posing with the objects. Materials also include
event invitations, correspondence, and Star Wars-related postcards, stickers, and other ephemera.

This accession consists of the records of Martin J. Collins, Curator, which primarily document planning for the Wernher von Braun Memorial Lecture, an annual public
forum held at the National Air and Space Museum (NASM) that presents distinguished guest speakers and panel discussions in regard to space, science, and technology in contemporary
life. Also consists of a small amount of records documenting NASM project proposals submitted to the Lemelson Center for review, and planning for the public program Remembering
the Space Race which featured a panel of former network-news executives, astronauts, and National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) officials giving firsthand
accounts of how NASA and the networks collaborated to present the space race to the American public and the world. Earlier records date back to when the Space History Division

This accession consists of records documenting the John A. Simpson Papers Project in which curators at the National Air and Space Museum (NASM) assisted. Simpson, a
physicist and space scientist, was the Director of the Enrico Fermi Institute at the University of Chicago. He also served as the Martin Marietta Chair in Space History at
the National Air and Space Museum from October 1987 through September 1988. The bulk of this material consists of records created and maintained by Allan A. Needell, Curator
in the Space History Division. Some records document Simpson's life-long work as well as his activities at NASM. Materials include correspondence, memoranda, notes, publications,
and related materials. Prior to 1987, the unit was known as the Department of Space Science and Exploration and, between 1987 and 1997, the unit was called the Department
of Space History.
