Biographical / Historical:
The Arts Club of Washington was founded in 1916 by a group of artists to promote the arts in Washington, DC. The club focused on painting, sculpture, music, and drama and was the first club in Washington, DC to admit both men and women. Its current programs support visual, performing, and literary arts.
