The microfilmed Arts Club of Washington scrapbooks document the club's membership and activities through membership lists, correspondence, photographs, exhibition checklists, publicity items, and other related material.
Biographical / Historical:
The Arts Club of Washington was founded in 1916 by a group of artists to promote the arts in Washington, DC. The club focused on painting, sculpture, music, and drama and was the first club in Washington, DC to admit both men and women. Its current programs support visual, performing, and literary arts.
Lent for microfilming 1979 and 1992 by the Arts Club of Washington.
The Archives of American art does not own the original papers. Use is limited to the microfilm copy.
