Scope and Contents:
REELS 1480-1483 and 3184: Correspondence, biographical data, published and unpublished writings, an inventory of art works, and clippings; exhibition catalogs and announcements, a photograph of Hogue, and photographs and slides of Hogue's art work; and a sketch with a poem by Hogue.
UNMICROFILMED: Clippings, 1945-1991; an exhibition announcement, 1985; exhibition catalogs, 1992 and undated; miscellaneous printed material, 1985-1992; and a photograph of "St. Francis With the Birds," 1987, a work of art by Hogue.
Biographical / Historical:
Painter, lithographer, printmaker. Died July 22, 1994. Head of Art Department at Tulsa University, Tulsa, Oklahoma, 1945-1963, retired from teaching 1967. Most noted for his "wind and water erosion" and "dustbowl" series.
Provenance:
Materials on reels 1480-1483 and 3184 donated 1979-1984 by Alexandre Hogue and microfilmed as part of AAA's Texas Arts Documentation Project. Hogue donated the unmicrofilmed material in 1992.
