This series consists of records primarily documenting Theodore H. Reed's activities as an officer and member of the American Association of Zoological Parks and
Aquariums (AAZPA). Also included are files concerning the National Zoological Park's membership in the AAZPA. Reed served the AAZPA as Secretary, 1961-1962; President-Elect,
1962-1963; and President, 1963-1964. He was nominated to the AAZPA Board of Directors in 1981. The records include Reed's correspondence as an AAZPA officer; files on AAZPA
committees, conferences, and meetings; and materials concerning AAZPA programs, including the Species Survival Plan.
