"Americans on the battlefield and the football field / Displaying equal levels of determination, a soldier clutching a smoking gun and a running back cradling a football put two different types of defense to the test. The Stall and Dean Co. released this World War I-era poster to advertise its sporting goods." (Text in virtual exhibit.) Below image: 4-line poem entitled "The Game."
