Biographical / Historical:
Dylan Vitone received a B.A. in photocommunications from St. Edward's University (Austin, Texas, 2001), and an M.F.A. in photography from the Massachusetts College of Art (2003). At the time of this acquisition he was assistant professor in the School of Design, Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh. He is the son of photographer Joe Vitone.

Policeman and emergency personnel inspect overturned car. The photographer writes: "This crash occurred because the driver fell asleep at the wheel at about 2:30 in the afternoon on February 8, 2011. The driver survived and was taken to the hospital." Printed with Epson K-3 ink on Moab Somerset Museum Rag 300.

Scope and Contents:
Big Dog Neon, a neon sign manufacturing business, is owned and operated by Kirk Tunningley, Lockhart, Texas. This photograph depicts his personal bar, located in his shop, where his friends often hang out after work. An arrow-shaped sign on the wall says "signs." This digital print was made with Epson K-3 ink on Ilford Gold Fibre Silk alpha-cellulose paper.
