Une lumière! des couleurs, et d'un pittoresque. Les voyages et le travail sont très fatiguants mais je suis si contente de faire partie de cette tournée et d'avoir la chance de voir tout cela. Je vous espère en bonne santé et je vous embrasse." Translated message reads, " Léopoldville, June 4, 1957. All is well. The heat here is terrible, about 40*. the country is beautiful, such light! Colors, and so picturesque. The travels and the work are very tiring but I am so happy to be part to this visit and to have the luck to see all that. I wish you good health and kiss you."."
