Contains the personal papers of the Sandford family. The materials document the day to day activities and interests of individual members outside of the family business. The series is divided into eight subseries. Subseries 2.1 is the papers of Frank Sherman Sandford dating from 1870-1925. Subseries 2.2 consists of the papers of founder Mary Elizabeth Kennedy Sandford dating from 1868-2003. Subseries 2.3 contains the papers of daughter and later manager of the company Ruth Louise Sandford dating from 1900-1972. Subseries 2.4 is son John Joseph Sanford's papers dating from 1900-1987. Subseries 2.5 includes Georgiana Kennedy Sandford Gilman papers dating from 1870-1973. Subseries 2.6 is daughter Helen Louise Sandford McDowell papers dating from 1899-2000. Subseries 2.7 contains the papers relating to the family household dating from 1831-1992. Subseries 2.8 includes the papers of Frances Rohe, whose relationship to the family is unknown, dating from 1913 and 1920.

Consists primarily of the diaries maintained by Sandford for over fifty years. These diaries contain newspaper clippings, notes relating to personal daily activities and family expenses, and ephemera dating from 1871-1924. Frank Sandford also documented national social and cultural events such the 1876 Centennial Fair in Philadelphia. Information relating to his education, finances, legal matters, and family upbringing, are also found among these materials. In addition, there is some correspondence and a wallet. The materials are arranged primarily in chronological order.
