This record unit consists of correspondence, memoranda, contracts, bids and invitations, proposals, reports and related materials maintained by the Contracts Office concerning Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory (SAO) projects, especially Project Celescope. Of special interest are materials documenting contracts with Electro-Mechanical Research, Inc., and Westinghouse Research Laboratories for the technical development of Celescope. Also included is similar material concerning SAO projects funded by contracts with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, United States Air Force, National Science Foundation, Office of Naval Research, and Harvard University.

This accession consists of four websites maintained by the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory (SAO). SAO, with the Harvard College Observatory, jointly administers the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics (CfA).

The John G. Wolbach Library website, crawled September 4, 2018, provides information about the Library's collections and services. Detailed collection information is not included in this accession.

The Package for Interactive Analysis of Line Emission (PINTofALE) website, crawled on September 12, 2018, consists of documentation of software tools developed to analyze spectroscopic data from optically-thin coronal plasmas. The software itself is not included in this accession.

The software website for the CfA High Energy Astrophysics Division, crawled on September 18, 2018, serves as a portal to the Division's available software, located on several other websites.

At the time of each Apollo mission launch, NASA prepared a set of printed "as flown" stowage lists to document what items were stored on the spacecraft (both the Command Module and Lunar Module), as well as which items were to be transferred from one spacecraft to another.
