The collection is divided into three series.

Biographical / Historical:
Larry Zim, whose actual name was Larry Zimmerman, was an industrial designer, a historian of World's Fairs who wrote extensively on the subject, and a collector of World's Fair memorabilia.

Collection by bequest of Larry Zim.

Scope and Contents:
This series consists of pins from parades and celebrations in the United States. The majority of the pins are for the St. Paul Winter Carnival in St. Paul, Minnesota. The St. Paul Winter Carnival is one of the oldest carnivals in the United States, dating back to 1886. Also included are pins for the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, a souvenir pin from the Hudson-Fulton Celebration (1909), and a pin from a street fair in Wheeling, West Virginia (1901).

The collection is open for research. Gloves must be worn when handling unprotected photographs, negatives, and slides.

Scope and Contents note:
An album containing 100 black-and-white prints depicting the parade through Manhattan. The photographs show an unobstructed view of the floats and marching groups in the parade. The photographs are captioned but the photographer is unkown.
Arrangement:
Collection is unarranged.
Biographical/Historical note:
The Hudson Fulton Celebration commemorated both the 300th anniversary of the third of English explorer Henry Hudson's four voyages, as well as the 100th anniversary, in 1907, of the first practical steam navigation by American inventor Robert Fulton. The two celebrations were merged into one event, and took place in September and October, 1909 in New York and on the Hudson River with parades, exhibits and re-enactments.
