"The E. Madison Hall excursion boat, owned and operated by a black man, Captain J. O. Holmes, is a steamer 160 feet long that seats 800 and has 20 staterooms. The excursion season begins about the first Sunday in May and lasts through September. Two or three trips down the Potomac to River View resort are made each day", from "The Black Washingtonians. Procession of baptismal candidates down a set of steps into a pool of water. Five men dressed in black assist in the water. One has his arms raised. Spectators stand to the side of the pool, one is holding a microphone. Probably at Griffith Stadium. No ink on negative. "9 AGFA SUPERPAN PRESS" edge imprint. No Scurlock number.
