Biographical / Historical:
Mary Heilmann (1940- ) is a painter known for her incorporation of disparate visual lexicons such as Beat and surf culture with geometric abstraction and striking palettes. Raised and trained in San Francisco, Heilmann moved to New York City in 1968 and made her career there and in Bridgehampton, NY.
Terrie Sultan (1952-) is a curator and cultural consultant based in Southampton, NY; she previous served as the director of the Parrish Art Museum.
