Edited film documents various aspects of life in several cities in Italy, primary Venice, but also including Milan, Garda, Como, Lugano, Maggiore, and the Dolomites. Shown are scenes of the canals in Venice, the Doge's Palace, St Mark's Basilica, Byzantine mosaics at the Ravenna Monastary, markets, street scenes, glassmaking, needlework, tatting lace, children learning nautical lessons, contemporary and historical architecture, lakes, rural areas, churches, castles, garbage boats, ski lifts, camping. Also shown are several maps of trade routes.
