Scope and Contents:
Edited film is a theatrical travelogue produced for "Around the world in Sound and Pictures on the Magic Carpet of Movietone." Film is shot in the western United States and the first part of the film focuses on different animal herds including buffalo, cattle and sheep. Film also shows cowboys rounding up wild horses on a ranch in Montana. The film then moves on to depict the old "Wild West" with cowboys singing by the camp fire and shows a re-enactment of that time period by men and women in Tombstone, Arizona. The women sing and dance and the men ride horses. The film then shows a rodeo with men riding wild horses and broncos.
