An interview with Sonya Clark conducted 2022 June 13-14, by Sam Adams for the Archives of American Art, at Clark's home in Amherst, Massachusetts.­
Biographical / Historical:
Sonya Clark (1967- ) is a fiber artist of Afro-Caribbean heritage known for her engagement with racism legacies of colonialism through assemblage and installation. Born in Washington, DC, she is a professor of art at Amherst College, Amherst, Massachusetts.
Provenance:
This interview is part of the Archives of American Art Oral History Program, started in 1958 to document the history of the visual arts in the United States, primarily through interviews with artists, historians, dealers, critics and administrators.
