According to radiocarbon testing by the Minnesota Dugout Canoe Project, the canoe dates to 1025-1165 and is representative of the Woodlands culture. Originally from the North Arm of Lake Minnetonka, the canoe is now housed at the Western Hennepin County Pioneer Museum.
