Reports Relating to Murders and Outrages

Scope and Contents:
The reports received from subassistant commissioners and agents relating to murders and outrages, 1866–68, are arranged chronologically. Also included is a copy of a report sent to the Commissioner concerning outrages committed upon the freedmen in Georgia during 1868. The reports usually list the names of the person murdered or assaulted and of the person accused of the crime, the race of the people involved, and the action taken in the case.
