Video Title:
Echinoderm larvae: Echinoids and Asteroids
Description:
A gallery of sea urchin and starfish larvae collected from Bocas del Toro. Most marine invertebrates, including sea urchins and starfish, have a planktonic larval stage that is very different from the familiar adult form. For some species we still do not know what the larval form looks like. Larval Biology workshop participants worked to document the different invertebrate larvae found in the shallow water of the Bahia Almirante, but there is still a long way to go, to identify the species these larvae belong to.
