Suni Paz - "Pedro Canoero – Pedro Canoe Man (guarania)" [Live at Fiesta Argentina 2011]
Suni Paz is an Argentinian performer, writer, and folklorist who uses music to connect and educate people about their roots. Her songs combine Argentinian rhythms and song styles with her own cultural and spiritual ideals. In this video from Fiesta Argentina 2011, Suni performs a live version of "Pedro Canoero (Pedro Canoe Man)," a song describing the life of a canoe man who lives in the Litoral, a region of Eastern Argentina. Ultimately, the canoe man Suni sings about in this song represents the lives of people from the region. Her performance took place at the Ford Amphitheatre in Los Angeles on August 20th, 2011. The concert and film were produced by INCA/Del Mate Productions. 'Bandera Mía: Songs of Argentina' is available on CD and digital. Stream/download/purchase: Smithsonian Folkways: Spotify: In Bandera Mía, "My Flag," veteran folksinger, songwriter, and guitarist Suni Paz paints a melodious musical mosaic of favorite Argentine folk rhythms, including tango, chacarera, bailecito, carnavalito, gato, zamba, and vidalita.
