How Does a Returning Citizen Find Decent Housing in D.C?

J’Mia Edwards used dogged determination to find housing for herself and her children. She is now a case worker and educator helping others get on their feet. J’Mia shared her story after participating in a 4 part storytelling workshop organized by ACM in summer 2022 and then performed on stage at Busboys and Poets in Anacostia. Community members were invited to learn the art of storytelling so that these powerful stories can be used to create a more equitable society. The theme this year was "Housing in the District" as part of our year long focus on housing equity and justice in DC.
